Utilizing multiple types of stone from the floors, countertops, mantel, and backsplash meant that stone became cohesive, but not overwhelming element throughout the space. Paired with the wood island, ceiling beams, and exposed brick, each element combines perfectly.
Rich, dark millwork below the dark blue countertops ground the kitchen work alongside the white cabinetry and light tile backsplash above to simultaneously ground the space while allowing a sense of lightness into it.
White marble countertops provide a contrast to the varying tones of rich wood in this Brooklyn Heights kitchen. Tin ceiling panels and a large skylight ensure that the kitchen feels spacious and light, despite the dark tones throughout.
The combination of teal and natural wood cabinetry creates an interesting base for this eclectic kitchen. Placing white countertops and a white subway tile backsplash along the wall balances against both the dark range hood and the dark island countertop.
